23 Steam Game Recommendations You Can Enjoy on Mac, Sorted by Genre
On Mac, the number of games you can play is usually much smaller than on Windows. Even so, Steam has quite a few games that support macOS.
Today I've picked out about 23 Steam games you can play on Mac. I've sorted them by genre, so feel free to browse whichever genre you like.

RPG Games
Baldur's Gate 3
This is probably one of the most recently released games, and it's been receiving incredibly high praise everywhere. I didn't expect it to support macOS, but I found out it does.
Cult of the Lamb
Cult of the Lamb has an overall cute design, but its subject matter is an occult cult. You start the game as a powerless "lamb" who is sacrificed as an offering.

For The King
For The King is a strategy RPG that blends tabletop and roguelike elements. When the king is assassinated by a mysterious assailant, the once-peaceful kingdom of Fahrul falls into chaos, and the player sets out on an adventure to find the king's killer and save the kingdom.
Survival Games
Project Zomboid
A survival game where you struggle to stay alive in a world full of zombies. You have to collect various items and learn the skills needed to survive.
Don't Starve Together
Don't Starve is a survival game that also supports multiplayer with other players. As the title suggests, you'll get a game over if you starve, so you have to keep surviving.
ARK: Survival Evolved
ARK: Survival Evolved is a survival game with a special twist — dinosaurs. It has dinosaurs like Triceratops and T-Rex, as well as cute birds like Dodos. I have fond memories of playing it with friends for a long time.
Rust
Rust is a survival game where, to survive, you gather various resources and build structures, among many other activities. In the game, you also team up with other players and fight a desperate battle for survival.
Simulation Games
Civilization 6
The Civilization series is famous as a "time machine" game. It's a renowned historical strategy simulation, nicknamed that because once you start, you lose all track of time. This one supports macOS too.
Victoria 3
Victoria 3 is a historical simulation game where you become a historical figure and recreate history. You can choose various nations and figures to experience historical events, and you must make strategic decisions across politics, economics, the military, and more.
Stardew Valley
A simulation game where you run a farm, interact with the townspeople, and can even date them. You can enjoy a variety of content: growing crops, raising animals, learning cooking and crafting recipes, exploring, and more.
Football Manager 2023
A club management simulation game where you become the manager and play in a simulation style. In the game, you carefully plan the tactics and strategies needed to win matches, and you can fully customize your team's performance.
Total War: Warhammer 3
Total War: Warhammer 3 is a strategy simulation game where you command armies in war. You choose from various races and units to wage battles, and making strategic decisions to lead your side to victory is key.
House Flipper
A simulation game where you become a one-person renovation contractor and remodel houses through all sorts of methods — cleaning, painting, arranging furniture, and more — to earn money.
Crusader Kings 3
A simulation game set in the medieval era. With its detailed domain-management system and power struggles, it's one of the more popular series in Korea too. This one supports macOS as well.

Terraria
A sandbox game similar in genre to Minecraft, where you can do all kinds of activities: collecting various items, building structures, battling monsters, and more.
Action Games
Metro Exodus
The conclusion to the METRO 2033 trilogy, which depicts a journey through a world destroyed by nuclear war. It's an open-world game set against the wilderness of post-apocalyptic Russia. The player experiences a story spanning one year — spring, summer, autumn, and winter — that continues the narrative of the previous games.
Dying Light
Dying Light is an open-world first-person zombie survival game set in an infected city cut off from the outside world. In a vast world, the player must secure supplies, hunt down the person who created the plague, slay ravenous zombies, and fight to survive.
Adventure Games
Dave the Diver
A game that combines adventure and management simulation, where you collect various creatures and explore beneath the sea. By day you explore the ocean, and by night you run a restaurant. It was recently developed by Nexon and received great reviews.

An adventure game where you achieve your goals by overcoming various obstacles.
The Binding of Isaac
The Binding of Isaac is an adventure game where you achieve your goals by overcoming various obstacles. In the game, you collect various items and strengthen your character as you progress.
No Man's Sky
No Man's Sky is a space-themed game where you can explore various planets, collect resources, build structures, battle monsters, and more. In the game, you can also team up with other players to explore the universe together.
FPS Games
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
An FPS game and one of the most popular games worldwide. You can enjoy combat using various maps, weapons, and equipment.
Left 4 Dead 2
Left 4 Dead 2, which has by now almost become a classic. I didn't know this one supported Mac either, so it was a new discovery for me.
Wrapping Up
So that's a look at 23 games you can play on Mac. Since FPS games with a lot of fast camera movement tend to be tough on Mac, there don't seem to be many FPS titles. Instead, you can see there are plenty of simulation games that don't involve much camera movement but require a lot of attention.
If I were to name the games I personally enjoyed the most, I'd pick Civilization 6, Stacklands, ARK: Survival Evolved, and Don't Starve!
