Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Forgotten Saga — How to Get the [Dwarven Guardian] Gear

Assassin's Creed Valhalla recently released free, non-paid content following Dawn of Ragnarök. It's content anyone who owns Valhalla can play, and it's 'The Forgotten Saga' — which blends a roguelike gameplay format nicely into the Valhalla style, and which I personally had a lot of fun with.

This post is a guide for one of the 7 outfits you can get in The Forgotten Saga — the one that, in my playthrough, happened to be the very last one I found and was hard to find.

The Forgotten Saga: How to Get the Dwarven Guardian Gear

The Dwarven Guardian is the 5th outfit you can get in The Forgotten Saga. Of the 7 total outfits, some can be obtained by progressing or by defeating bosses for the first time, while others are obtained through exploration.

The outfit I'll cover today is the [Dwarven Guardian] gear. Among the outfits above, it's one you can get through exploration.

Location

You can get this gear in 'Dökkland', the lava-zone region you arrive at second after clearing the first dungeon. The location is shown below.

Walkthrough

Go to the location above and use Odin's Sight to spot the chest. Head over to it.

When you get close to the chest, a line of dialogue plays saying it feels like a Jotun's magic at work, and you can't open the chest.

To the right as you face the chest, there's a path you can climb up.

Go in the direction of the arrows in the photo and you can climb up easily.

This is what it looks like once you've climbed all the way up. Go to the edge of the cliff and you'll see the haystack near the chest from earlier — drop down here.

After dropping down, you can now open the chest that you couldn't open before.

The Dwarven Guardian is an outfit that helps you clear the "defeat Niðhöggr without using the Elk's altar" trophy more easily.
